Thanks Birdbeard, I'm not sure about the pony tail either, although in my youth my hair was bright ginger, 2ft long, permed and had bleached blonde streaks in it. I thought I was David Coverdale back in the day! I only wish it was easier to take photos back then, nobody believes me when I tell them.

I did feel more presentable at work today, rather than just unkempt. It made me feel I had taken control - ownership I guess - of my beard!

I looked at your paintings in your link just now, and I'm very impressed. I work as a graphic designer, although I only really ever use a computer and turn disposable work around very quickly and move on. It must be very rewarding to take the time to truly observe your subject and bring things to life in the way that you can, in a way that is permanent and means something to people. I've often thought about painting as a pastime, but feels a little to much like work and so I seek out other things that are completely different. Maybe it is something I will turn to when I retire, or change jobs.
I have to say, the Rembrandt pig is my favourite!
