There's no sense learning this the hard way but trimming in the early growing stages can be a mistake. It's better, imo, to let everything grow for 3 months and then trim to a style. When hairs of unequal length intermingle, it creates a more solid mat than if all the hairs are shorter... unless, of course, you have totally matured coverage, which you don't just yet. The one area where trimming can help is the neckline and neckbeard, which you don't seem to have a problem with atm.
I'm also a fan of letting new and weaker coverage grow because the heavier coverage is what others notice. When those areas of lighter coverage develop, then they to will add to the overall look.
Keep it all growing and showing.
