Here's the beard at 11 weeks. Alas, haven't found a way to get better quality pics yet. But I've included a bunch in different kinds of lighting so you can get an idea of how the colours change. It can be dark brown, blonde, or red, depending on where in the beard you're looking or what kind of lighting hits it. I'll try and get a natural-lighting pic soon.

Also, for Rockspyder, a profile shot so you can see the backfill of my neck/corner area a couple of weeks now since the "great barber incident," which was neither great nor a big incident in retrospect.

Issues these past couple of weeks:

1. The stache. I think I'm beginning to understand how annoying this can get. The hairs either curl down right into my mouth or up  right into my nostrils, but never to the sides, unless I'm constantly finger-training them. Next time I'll post a pic of my walrus-ish natural moustache. I'm wondering if it might actually be a better look for me... either way, I think it's time I invested in some wax. In fact I know it's time.

2. Return of the dry beard and split ends. Can't figure out why this is, but every day it's getting more dry, and the split-end issue I thought I'd solved by introducing beardsaver/jojoba oil has returned, with a vengeance. Maybe it's the weather... but if so, this will be a rough winter seeing as it's only November!

3. Bad beard days (or series of days). One day I'm feeling like I'm out of the scruffy phase, the next day I can't stand those wild hairs. I almost fell victim to the clippers last week.

First comment from the wife came today as well (finally!).

Wife:  Are you growing a beard?
Me:    "Maybe."
Wife:  Well, you look like the Brawny Man.
Me:    He didn't have a beard.
Wife:  OK, well you look like Paul Bunyan then (mockingly).
Me:    Compliments like that aren't helping your case...

Should be interesting! As always, feedback and comments are appreciated!
