My friendly local delivery service brought these fantastic tins of new beard products today from BeardyBaldy which is the Etsy Store of board member, moderator and allround awesome bearded guy IrishDan.

I bought the complete range which currently consists of:
-Lumberjack: A beard balm
-Ronnie: A light to medium hold moustache wax
-Lip Weasel: A medium to strong hold moustache wax

They come in nice, sturdy screw-top tins and have Dans bearded face on them in various avatar incarnations (how cool is that?).

After hearing good things from other board members (and knowing Dan as a really great beardsman) I was expecting them to be good and I was not dissappointed!
So, you can happily stop reading here and just order the whole bunch but I will quickly review each product seperately.

-Ronnie moustache wax:

Scent: A very nice cedarwood blend without the overly sweet notes that you will find in many other mousatach waxes. Distinct, but not overpowering.

Consistency: Solid to creamy, can be applied without heating it with a blowdryer, which makes it a nice wax to have around while on the go. Somewhat similar to the regular Capt´n Fawcett wax.

Results: This will give you a very nice natural sweep without the slick look of stronger wax. If your moustache is well trained or you want to add a little control without looking too styled this would be a great wax.

-Lip weasel moustache wax:

Scent: Somwhat similar to the Ronnie moustache wax, which is a good thing as you can use the lighter wax for the bulk of the stache and the stronger wax for the tips without having two clashing scents.

Consistency: More solid than the Ronnie, but you can still apply it without a blowdryer by rubbing it together between your fingertips for a while. Somewhere between MansFaceStuff and Woodsman. Quite easy to apply for the strong hold it provides.

Results: This is a very good medium to strong hold wax. It easily shapes and styles the stache without plastering it into shape at a very good convinience to result ratio. It will make sure your stache stays in place while still maintaining a somewhat natural look.

-Lumberjack beard balm:

Scent: Sandalwood and a bit stronger than the wax but of a very pleasant variety (sandalwood scents can differ quite a lot), I personally love it.

Consistency: It´s a balm with wax, so it´s quite a bit stronger than the butter based balms like Honest Amish, but you can easily apply it after rubbing it between your palms for a few second.

Results: A very nice stronger beard balm with a good hold. This works really well in combination with a little oil and when you are outdoors and things get a little windy. A few brushstrokes and the beard is in great shape again.

All in all Dan really created some amazing beard products here, with a very unique appeal (try them, it´s a really special blend compared to many other products).
I have tried well over thirty different stache waxes and balms and these are definitely amongst the best.
The Lip weasel wax especially is something that I will be using on a regular basis. Thanks Dan, great work!
