Welcome to the board! First, don't shave at all!!! Mom's have a hard time letting their boys grow up and a beard reminds them that you're no longer their little boy (LOL). She'll get used to it and like it once it fills in properly (which is about 3 months), so ... don't give in. As to your beard - you're not going to have any issues. You have excellent coverage. The only thing that you'll need is time and length and to remember that lighter colored beards take a bit longer to look filled in, but ... somehow, I don't think you're going to have any worries on that. As to the itchiness - get some oil. Argan, jojoba, coconut ... even olive if you don't have anything else. A couple of drops a couple times per day will help the itchiness. You can use it more often if it helps, but you don't need much.

Welcome to the board ... grow it out and enjoy it! Congrats on the great beard genes!
