Hi everyone,

I'm now 2 months in on my first beard. Everything's been going OK so far, but had an incident at the barber shop today. I went to get my hair trimmed and explicetly told the barber (not my usual one) to leave anything below the natural hairline alone. While she was tidying my neck hair up around the back, she proceeded to start absent-mindendly "cleaning up" my beard below my ears. After I almost shouted "NO!", she stopped, but she'd already clipped quite a bit on one side, so I had her do the same on the other side. I don't have any good "before" pictures to show, but i've attached some "afters". In the last pic, I've drawn a line in white where the previous beard line used to follow so you have an idea of what I'm talking about. The part she clipped is the area that grows below the ear  area where the bottom-back of the neckline stops and connects to the side edge of the beard. Previously, the side edge of my beard curved back a bit below the ear and there was an almost squared corner before it turned down to the neckline. As you can see from the pics, the side edge of my beard now pretty much follows a straight line down and there's a much more rounded look to my beard. Personally, i'm not a fan of it. I'm really pissed at the barber and a bit dejected, and looking for your advice.

1) General thoughts on the 2-month beard thus far?

2) What are your thoughts on the area below the ear where the side meets the neckline?

3) Will it be possible, over time, to "extend" the line back a bit to where it previously was, more behind the ear?

Thanks to all of you in advance for your time and advice! What a great resource this forum is.imageimageimage
