Hola Philippelopes!
I would honestly advise you to back away from this thread and to share your minoxidil experiences with the fellas in the rogaine (minoxidil) experiment thread @ http://jefffsbeardboard.yuku.com/topic/28948/Rogaine-Experiment#.VD3Sv_nF8sY
It's filled with 11 years worth of success stories, educated opinions, and the general experiences of hundreds of the bearded hopefuls.

I'm not saying the fellas commenting in this thread are wrong, just that there's obviously no absolute guarantee with minoxidil. There's plenty of fellas who have used minoxidil for months and retained their gains after quitting, and there's also plenty who have lost some or all of their gains after quitting, and there's also those rare few who have had sever allergic reactions to minoxidil.

There's also a few common beliefs with minoxidil that are commonly brought up in the thread, such as;

-The reason head-users of minoxidil lose their hair right after stopping is because minoxidil doesn't cure the cause of baldness, it simply suppresses it. So whatever that cause may be is free to rampage on your scalp once minoxidil treatments have stopped. However, beards aren't really affected by any form of balding, so once minoxidil is stopped, the only thing that would cause beard loss is your own body.
-It's generally believed that any full matured terminal hairs gained through minoxidil will remain even after you stop. But any vellus or transitional hair could still be lost.
-It's also believed that the longer you've used minoxidil, the better chances you have of not losing those gains once you have stopped.
-Many people also frown upon using minox before 23, I never quite understood that part. As long as you're fully grown, we all share the same risks.
-Minoxidil isn't a miracle hair-grower, it can't work if it doesn't have anything to work with. Meaning that it's ultimately up to your own genetics and health to determine if you'll have good gains or not and whether you keep those gains or not.

I've been a minoxidil user off and on for the past year now. I've taken breaks from minoxidil just to see if I lost any hair. Even after a two month period I noticed no loss of gains and even had a few strands of hair continue to pop up. I already had a decent beard before minoxidil, but it really helped me with my weaker areas and gave me a huge boost to my self esteem when growing out my fur.

At six weeks, you'll start seeing the biggest gains pretty soon. I definitely had my biggest gains between 6 and 10 weeks. And I can already tell from your pics and your age that you've definitely got the genetics for a good beard, so minoxidil should definitely bring you some great results.
No one can judge you for chasing after your dream. If you're really determined and haven't had any harmful reactions, then keep going!
