Hey guys,

Thanks for the welcome and tips.

For the time being I'm still looking at pictures and exploring possibilities. There are a lot of things I'm still uncertain about when it comes to styling. Not sure what I'm signing up for, but that is why I've been looking at pictures on this forum. They give a good impression of the average time used to grow what is required. The rate at which my hair grows people around me assume it'll be 6-9 months before it reaches the length of my chest bone/solar plexus. But time will time...patience is a virtue. And I've got plenty of it. Uhm the question is. Would it be ok to start braiding asap or keep it wild and long until its time to braid it for real?

When it comes to the moustache I'm still in dubio what to do with it. After looking at some pictures I've found a nice one. However it gives me the impression it is build up out of two parts. The upper lip segment is kept short. Main part of the staches shape comes from the hair growing on the sides of the mouth. Which I accidentally trimmed off and is currently growing back (seen in pic). A hanging stache that falls just over the chin would be nice as well as in this example. http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a311/Saligia/Mig/DSC00356.jpg In that case I could decide to get a French Fork and let it grow out in two thin braids. With the thicker braid hanging in between them from under my chin. Which makes me also think overkill and messy in presentation.

On top of that I'm also thinking about the beard itself. When it is long enough to braid...should I then cut off everything else that is excess?. Or have a short/medium boxed beard to round it out? A full rounded look like this image would be cool. Any idea how many milimeter trim is needed for that length?

I've read the topic about training. Apparently doing it daily too some extent already. Will keep doing it with my beard. Now starting to move the stache to the sides instead of down. Just like my comb-over head hair it'll probably be stuck the rest of my life as well hehe. This morning there was no time to comb the beard thoroughly. Going through it with my fingers today to keep it in the lines wanted. But it feels stingy and prickly unlike normal. Ugh...

Planning to post pictorial updates at the end of each month. This month excluded.

Once again thanks for the input thusfar. It is fun to think and theorize about possible styles...fills the time while waiting.
