These are the pics of ourselves we hate.. I'm posting them for guys just starting off that are discouraged..
When i started, i did not think i had the coverage to even pull off a riker. I was going to go 3 months, and then see where to carve a balbo or hollywoodian. Prior to this, i tried circle beards many times, but failed.
So, here we go..
My weakest side. That spot that looks like a bruise on my cheek? An island of stubble. Both sides have this.
Eventually it grew long enough to blend into the hair bellow. That resulting "stair step" fought me for many months.
With clever manipulation, i could still expose the true patchiness is still there, hidden. This is a few months in. I was actually tickled pink - i know i should be able to sport a Riker!
Here's the other side. In person it is weaker. It's even less dense, so the contrast isn't as noticable. I was trying to figure out if i could brush it forward to help with the coverage.. I have no before pic, but trust me this was much better:
Still there after many months, but getting better and it doesn't really bother me now. I do consider trimming the cheeklines a tiny bit to soften the stairstep effect some, but frankly i dont want to risk it - it took a long time just to get here:
And a week ago.... At this point, I'm long past even thinking about the crazy hidden patches
