Hello Markantony.   I haven't been on this forum for awhile, but scrolled through today as I have the afternoon off.

Yes, I have had Sleep Paralysis.  The scariest thing about it is NOT knowing what it is.  When it happens, yes ... you have all sorts of frightening thoughts and that feeling of being unable to help yourself or get out of it.

I remember many many years ago when I was doing some work in SE Asia, I had an episode the night of a wicked typhoon.   I was laying in my bed, wind howling outside and noise from slamming shutters and corrugated roofing scraping along the streets;  I was hit with this paralysis.  image   Eyes were open, but I could not move, speak or do anything!

It took everything in my power to move.  I felt as though I was tied down to my bed:  legs, arms and body ... including my head.  Couldn't move and I was trying desperately to say something, utter even a word ... but it felt like a firm hand was placed over my mouth.   I remember my ears were ringing too.

Somehow I managed to fight it, writhing my body until the paralysis literally just left ... instantaneously.

Thankfully, I read up on Sleep Paralysis, and you know asking questions to seek answers.

Having the internet certainly helps alleviate the discomfort of not knowing.   Now you do.

I haven't had it in many years, but now knowing what it is, safe to say ... I believe I can now deal with it.

Good luck young fellah!
