Good evening bearded gentlemen, here I am again with the 10 week update. It's not getting much visibly longer, just thicker and bushier. The tache is getting better and better (thank you Tom E, by the way) and so is the colour with more copper and auburn hair growing in. Through this last week I've received quite a bit of positive feedback and though some nasty part of my mind insists it's just people being polite and not meaning it, all in all I'm feeling better about it. Sure it's never going to win any prize, but hell, it's a undeniably a beard, and it's mine. If I could change one thing it would be the texture, way too woolly and frizzy for my taste, but as someone said, wish in one hand and s**t in the other …

With my initial three month goal post in sight, I think I'll keep on growing after that and assess every month. One thing's for sure, whatever length or shape I settle for in the end, I'll never be clean shaven again. It's hard to believe how much my perception of myself had changed and how differently others relate to me now - I get a lot less attitude from my clients, and I've noticed people in general seem to approach me in a more deferent way… perhaps I look intimidating (I'm not a natural smiler) or I simply carry myself more confidently. Either way, it's a good feeling.

So, pictures. Sorry 'bout the pissed-off face, hadn't had my morning coffee yet.

And a couple of close-ups… looks pretty gnarly, so I try to avoid looking at it too closely. Most of the times it works.

On the other front, still cigarette-free and loving it. Working out no longer feels like a chore but a pleasure, food tastes like food again and those extra £120-150 a month in the bank don't hurt either. And for fellow vaper Razorslave: I'm using an X6 Lavatube mod with a Mini Protank, and 12% liquid from a UK company, a bit pricier than most but tastes great. To think that up to a few weeks ago I didn't even know any of these existed, nor had any idea of the extents of geekery involved it's good fun though. Yourself?
