Hi AppleKilledDoctor,
At 6 weeks your beard is looking pretty good. Good chin, moustache, soul patch, lower jaw and neck growth. Cheeks as you say are quite patchy. I would give it another 6 or 7 weeks without any trimming to see if the cheeks fill out more. Often it can be in the last few weeks of the initial 13 week growing period that cheeks start filling in. There's no guarantee that they will and if not there are loads of cool beard styles that you can go for that don't require strong cheek growth.
Your beard growing genes don't always necessarily come from your father's side of the family.
Good luck and keep posting regular updates on here.
