Hello all,

I am a relative newcomer to the bearded community so I am not sure how accurate my product reviews will be but here one is.

From my short time browsing this board, I learnt that one of the more important products for any bearded gentlemen to nourish and care for his beard is beard balm... and so I set out on my journey to find some. Like the quest for the holy grail my my initial search was arduous and led me to discover that here in the UK you have to pay a premium to import a lot of beard related items. However after digging around a bit I stumbled upon a relatively new UK based business; http://www.thebrightonbeardcompany.co.uk.
The Brighton Beard Company was founded in 2013 by couple Lloyd and Jessica, who wanted to create a beard-care range that championed both style and nourishment for the urban beardsman. Each of our products are named after local and lawless smugglers, moonshiners and best loved villains from around the East Sussex area.

After reading this passage on their website I though yeah I will be having some of that and with that I purchased some balm finally.

"Creampot Tom's Beard balm" arrived this morning and after a long days work at the office I finally had a chance to condition my facial fur. My first impressions were that tin was a little on the small size however I thought perhaps that was because I am not used to owning balm; at 60ml in size for £10 is that a good price I can not be sure but I am sure you longtime bearded fellows can gleam something from that.

Now as for its purpose it claims that is a leave-in conditioner to nourish repair and tame whilst providing a light hold,  so does it meet this? Well as it only arrived this morning I could not possibly comment on its ability to repair but here goes. Having been bearded for just under 6 weeks I was more than impressed by the the way it tamed some of the more gravity defying hairs so that right there is a plus, more importantly though the beard feels fresh and soft to touch, which has certainly got the missus' seal of approval. As for the scent, it has very light citrus-like aroma which is both pleasant and fresh. It was important to me that it was not too overpowering and I am glad to say that it is not. Having said that I think I would prefer I slightly more musky aroma but that is not to say this is not nice but just merely a personal preference.

So overall I am impressed with my first beardy purchase and I believe I will now continue to experiment with other items, speaking of which I won a beard oil from the same place in a free to enter competition, but it is yet to arrive. Oh and I think the competition lasts all week if anyone is interested.

I would have waited a little longer before reviewing but I was impressed by the personal message they included, going the extra mile and all that, plus I thought some of you guys may be interested in the competition.

So would I recommend it? Well yes I would, however remember that I am a bearded greenhorn before purchasing, nonetheless if you live in the UK I would certainly say have a look as you may see something of interest, I certainly did.
