Hi Dan, thanks for the reply! The Riker is exactly what I'm going for this time. Last year I had an extended goatee and mustache at some point (detached, cause I don't have much in the way of connectors), and while it was a mean look (in a good way), in the end it was too high maintenance… also, I find that sharp, defined styles work better when you have very dense coverage, not so much if you have to get more length on to make up for sparse areas, if you see what I mean.

As much as I enjoyed growing my first serious beard, one thing that really did my head in was the constant obsessing about minor imperfections, the constant fiddling and micro-trimming. This time round it's a lot easier - more stuff going on, more of a background for the minor flaws to fade into I guess.
