As tempting as it is to do this, it's kind of the worst thing you can do as it fills your head with self doubt, JakeH93. It highlights weak areas and makes them look much weaker than they actually are.

So as the other gents recommend, grow it out for 3 months, don't trim or carve any of it except for below the neck line. Then after 3 months, we're in a much better position to advise you on beard styles.

You have pretty good coverage with some weaker sparse areas, but they may fill out more over the next 10 weeks. Even if they don't, there are loads of beard options open to you. Also your beard will mature more as you get older.

But 3 weeks is way too early to be making these sorts of decisions. 3 weeks is nothing in the beard growing process.

Thanks for checking out my thread Dan, it is great to get advice from someone with a beard as good as yours. My plan is to grow for at least 3 months, however i am willing to wait 6 to see if my circle beard improves. My main concern is thickness. My moustache is there, i just doesn't seem to be as thick as other areas and i am hoping, with time this will sort itself out.

Also, when do you suggest i start using any kind of oil? My beard isn't so thick at the minute so should i wait until it thickens some more?
