Trying to figure out a way to keep my budding handlebar from being swept away from my daily coffeine fix, I stumbled upon the concept of "moustache cups". The idea is that a small guard across the rim of the cup provides some dry space for your whiskers to rest on, while the coffee can freely flow underneath. The only ones I could find locally were rather dainty victorian ones, which wouldn´t hold enough coffee to get my out of bed, let alone survive the office. So I decided to order some with http://moustachecup.com/. I like handcrafted ceramics and they looked quite nice to me. I couldn´t find shipping options to Europe, but after a brief and very friendly email exchange the owner - Bill - and I had found a solution and the cups were on their way across the big pond.

I was anxious to see if they had survived the long trip, but I needn´t have worried, the packaging would have survived most earthquakes and even the robust german delivery services. The cups I ordered (cobalt blue and celadon) - simply look stunning and feel very robust but not to heavy. The most important thing - the concept really works. My moustache seems to handle all work related hot beverages much better and I don´t need to retouch it at all after a coffee break. Here are two shots of the celadon mug and a (rather awkward) action shot.
