More lush greenery!

An old army corporal mate of mine was 52, having served 32 years. He'd had a moustache for about 30 and always swore that he never used deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, or the like. He was by no means a hippie and wasn't funky-smelling at all, and had a great moustache (much longer than dress-standard allowed, but with that much experience he got left alone). I'm not in the least surprised to see this working out okay for yourself and others - when I have as much length as my old mate had on his 'stache, I'll give it a shot myself. Cheers for sharing.

I think mother nature intended for us to use our own body oil to protect our hair. Traditional shampoos and castile soaps will strip our natural oils from our hair. So I can see how avoiding them could be of benefit.

Dead right Erik, it seems like a bit of common-sense. If you try it let us know how it comes along!
