Hey little beard.

Thanks for your comments and our situation does seem to look a lot alike. I can especially relate to the difference in growth speed between individual hairs. I have a couple of overachievers and it's pretty impressive (one hair in the mustache I've trailed from just under the nose all the way to the edge on one side!). They do not pose much of a problem if I stroke my beard on a regular basis and generally stay down unless I somehow upset my beard (combing, trimming or washing against the grain). Odd places such as the jawline sometimes require a bit of attention but other that I just leave them alone unless it's obviously sticking out for me. Now that it's been a couple of days after the major trim and the hairs have settled back into the usual patterns my beard feels a lot softer and I enjoy fidgeting with it during spare moments.

One thing I did learn is to be happy with what I got, and not to be to hung up with what I want. Being envious just spoils the experience of growing a beard, and I've even considered shaving a few times. but I've stuck through even during hard times and it's still slowly filling, albeit not that fast. I'm no crystal ball and I don't know how my beard will look in the future, but I can alter the way it looks now, and that's all I need. This forum helped me a lot with tips and tricks I would have never gotten from others as I simply do not know anyone with a beard or that has had a beard. Maybe you should show off your stuff and see what the others think and advise on how you could improve your look?

Trimming at "4" does sound pretty short. If you trim to some longer setting, does the main bulk of your beard ever catch up to the rest?

Well, for someones that's been growing for a while it probably does seem a bit short. I use the 4 setting and seems pretty long to me. What length is a short beard generally trimmed at?
