Rider here. I have a 2007 HD1200L. Best tip--take the rider's course!! I have had bikes since the age of 14--First bike was a Triumph Tiger Cub--oh that I still had that collector's item! Then I laid off a spell after graduating from law school I got a Kawasaki 500, great fast bike, and my wife loved it when we were dating. We sold it when our oldest daughter was born to be "responsible!" Then after that child was married my wife after a good stiff Old Fashioned said to me in the presence of said daughter & newly minted son-in-law, "You ought to buy another bike!" Put that in my pocket and ran with it. Since it had been many years since I'd been on a bike, I decided to take the rider's course at our local HD dealer. Best decision I've made. There's not a ride I've taken since the new bike but that something from that course is applicable. The course is not a push over, it will challenge you. Love HD's but pick a bike for your size and use unless you can have several. Enjoy and RIDE SAFE!
