Well now this is very interesting. A beard makes you less trustworthy and also something about facial cues and lying? I would ask who are these crazy people, but then I saw you said it is real estate people.

1. Integrity makes you trustworthy, and a beard can't take that away, though it might add an aura of wisdom, which would make you MORE TRUSTWORTHY.

2. Facial cues about lying are in the eyes, not the cheeks, chin, lips, goatee, soul patch or neck. (Botox popular amongst realtors in your area? It is here! Wonder why...)

No offense to you, but real estate people tend to be amongst the shallowest of anybody I know. In general, people don't trust them to start with, right? (I'm saying this as an observer of my partner's real estate business. He is also vehemently anti-beard...and probably about to become an ex.)

I think setting yourself apart from the crowd with a nice beard is a smart move. You could even brand yourself "the bearded realtor". Just make sure to trademark that so the sharks don't take it and run.

Guys in my office in sales are bearded, and they reel in million+ projects on a regular basis. Conduct yourself as a professional, dress nicer than expected, keep your beard well-groomed, and develop a reputation for integrity. There's your recipe for success.
