I am also going for the full beard and hair growing to terminal length.  The reason that I tell people I am doing this is because I want to see how God intended me to look.  I would not say it is a spiritual journey for me but I am very much feeling much more confidence in myself and openness from others.  I think you are on a great journey.

It is a very powerful statement. God made us in His image. In nature there is so much depth and diversity science has only scratched the surface. I believe there is so much more going on with beards, especially at terminal length than meets the eye. Think about radio waves and how different antennas pick up different frequencies and how much data travels through those frequencies. Each hair is connected to our body's systems in ways we have not fully understood, but there are reasons they are designed to grow back so quickly. They are very important in more ways than surface appearance. I understand your feelings of confidence and have the same experience. On the physical side I have noticed a lowering of my blood pressure and far greater relaxation during stressful situations. Also dreams have become more vivid. I think it is very liberating when we free ourselves to grow hair as originally designed by our creator. Have we as humans really been able to improve on nature as a system? We are only now discovering how important natural balance is. Our senses are very limited compared with animals and birds. Beards are very important to life if we pay attention to them as a vital organ. Beards are a great source of power and strength. Example Samson. We are spiritual beings in physical bodies, your confidence comes from the spirit inside you as you let your outward appearance reflect who you were made to be.
