See the point is, it's sort of lacking growth for different kind of styles. For instance, the circle beard needs connectors,-. The chinstrap I think needs better sideburns, especially the left side is lacking.
I might pull of the stache and chin, but then again, whats the point of letting the rest grow. And to be honest, I find that style kind of boring, no offense to the pepole that like that style. But if that is your only option in the end, why bother with the 3 months commitment?

Sorry it that sounded pessimistic or annything, it's just some questions that has come up over the weeks. 
I don't think you "need" connectors to look good, but it is your face. If you would rather be bare-faced that have facial hair that does not quite live up to your standards, then that's your call. I personally think a stache+goatee, especially if you let the goat get a couple of inches long, will not be boring at all.
