Like others on this board, I have finally succumb to the urge to trim.  Unlike others, I didn't trim it all in one day.  I have reverted back to my approach before I joined the board.  I have been trimming nearly daily, but very lightly.  Basically I wake up in the morning and assess my beard in the mirror before I take a shower.  I choose a few hairs that are really sticking out of the overall shape, and I trim these only enough to match the other hairs around them.  I also trim any mustache hairs that grow into my mouth.  After a few weeks of doing this, my beard has taken on a long, but professional style.  I hope this can inspire anyone who feels like a longer beard won't work in their work environment.  I have included a before shot as well to compare what the beard looked like before I started trimming again.

Not a huge difference (no one at worked has even said anything) but I think it does look slightly cleaner.  I really like the shape of the mustache and that trimming has helped control the "forking."
