Alright, it's been just over a month since I joined up here. I've been checking in regularly... I realize that I should post more but I've been a member of several other forums for many years and I think the highest post count I've achieved is around 400. I'm just more of a lurker than a poster. I really do enjoy hanging out here, though. Great site!

Regarding my challenge to guess the Halloween costume from my last post in this topic... Urinal Deodorizing Tablet. They're usually pink and they always have a curly hair stuck to them.  As a Plumber, I consider myself an authority on this subject.

I've made the decision to grow my beard for at least 1 year before trimming. The photo I posted earlier from my sister's graduation was taken a few days after my last trim. By my calculations, that would make my current beard just over 6 months old. This is not taking into account the growth up to the point of my last trim, but that time is difficult to assess as I can't remember the last time I was clean shaven. Regardless of that fact, I'm calling the official date of my "Yeard" to be June 1, 2012.

I took this photo yesterday and posted it in the "waxless handlebar" thread.

Compared to the picture from a month ago in my original post, the beard and mustache is obviously longer but more importantly, everything seems to be more obedient. You can see that the mustache hairs are mostly going the right direction. I don't remember doing it, but at some point I must have trimmed the ones just above my lip, if I hadn't they would be as long as the ones on the sides and I'd have no complaints about my current beard. I'm particularly exited about what's going on below my lips. It looks like there might be a couple of big curls forming in that area. If I could get even one curl, remotely similar to the curls of member Tom57's beard, I'd be tickled.

At dinner the other night, my father-in-law said, in reference to my mustache, something like "in a couple of weeks you'll need to turn your head to get that thing through the door." I took it as a compliment.

My bucket's got a hole in it.
