Thanks all for all of the replies and comments. Sorry not to have responded sooner - another busy week with teacher training.
@Dan - I took art through high school but I just have fun with it as a hobby.
@Fork - With teacher training, I meet so many new people (students and teachers), the beard is out and about more than ever before.
@John - Thanks, my sister was the one who suggested Devil Flanders; I was originally going to do plain old Ned Flanders.
@Kevin - The latest pumpkin and costume went over well. I actually wore the costume to my class on Halloween, and the other student teacher's really enjoyed it too.
@Mholbert - I was considering costumes like a lumberjack and pirate etc. and then I thought the whole Zach Galifianakis look would be cool if I could pull it off. Once I found the T-shirt for it online; I had to do it. Btw, your pic of your dog isn't showing up; you could try re-posting.
@IT - Part of the reason I like to try out new pumpkin carving ideas is to hear the reactions at the door. The kids in the neighbourhood are the best art critics, and they knew Devil Flanders right away.
@Siezetheday - Thanks, I told my brother he could grow a beard and do the Zach Galifianakis look next year. Even though he's 10 years younger than me, he thinks he'll have too much grey in his beard to pull it off effectively.
@Tim - Thanks for the support. Right now, I'm busy planning for teaching Romeo and Juliet to grade tens.
@ Kp - Thanks. I didn't expect the pumpkin to glow as red as that, but for Devil Flanders it was just right, and yes, I got a chance to see The Simpsons Halloween special - saved it to watch on Halloween night - very cool.
