Lewis, all colorants have one or two ingredients that can be skin irritants. your best bet is purchase a regular hair color and use that in your beard if you are determined to color your beard. JFM is what they called a "progressive colorant" meaning by multiple applications it builds up to cover and conceal. it is not very affective and looks very, very, fake. you want to use a tradition hair color, because they work by entering the hair shaft and depositing color to the inner layer of hair, as opposed to building up on the outside. just be absolutely sure that no hair has been treated with JFM before applying traditional color. the chemicals do not react well and can cause the hair to smoke and or melt off. (pick a color that matches your natural color and mix with 20 volume developer, nothing higher and nothing lower or will not get good coverage. be sure to pick out a Neutral shade, they should be marked as either 6/0 or 6N )

if you want to be sure that it won't have an reaction to it, do a sensitivity test by simply mixing a small amount of the products and applying it to either the fold of your inner elbow or a clean area behind the ear. monitor the area for 24 hrs, if redness, itching, burning occurs do not use the dye. if not reaction then follow proceed and follow manufacturers instructions.
