Excellent van Dyck, Collin, but the cheeks look to me as if they are still in the transitional stage. At 28 this might appear surprising, but since you seem to have been a late starter it may well be that this part of your beard is still developing and that over the next few years the hairs will thicken up and go fully terminal. I would say that the overall look of your beard would be improved if you were to shave the cheeks for the time being, but I fully understand that you have a sensitive skin problem. Have you tried an electric shaver? I wet shave my neck using King of Shaves gel which is especially formulated for sensitive skins, and I find this very satisfactory. A friend to whom I recommended it and had a permanent rash on his neck found that this gel solved this problem. However, it may be that you have tried it and found that it did nothing for you.

Keep growing. Stay bearded!
