(I also love to attend vintage car shows, and as I see your pictures, it dawns on me that I haven't been to one in a couple of years.)
Your beard reminds me of mine somewhat from about five years ago, when I had more color. Your "stripes" are also in the same location mine were, and believe it or not, considering how white my beard appears on the surface, if you raise mine up, the stripes still exist underneath in those same locations! But the white was overtaken everything on top.Your S-shaped waves also remind me of mine at the length you're sporting now. But you just totally blow me out of the water with that gorgeous moustache. I'm insanely jealous of that, and it's a perfect topper for that great beard. Its length and density are attributes I'll never see on my own face.
I'm also moved by the story of your great, albeit long-distance, friendship. My college roommate and best friend of 47 years passed away this past Friday, June 30, and I'm very much in grief mode. Lifelong friendships like that are priceless. In our case, though, we have always lived in the same state and no more than two hours apart. We saw each other at least once and sometimes five or six times every year. That was a real blessing.
But anyway ... welcome again to long beards. Your thread will be highly followed as you let your beard grow through the summer, if you stick with your current plan! It's a real head-turner. Rick

I can visualise your cousin in the 1st photo having an awesome bad boy when grown out but as far as the bearded pecking order goes, you're streets ahead at present!

Gotta remember that one! My usual retort when people ask why every man for the Pacific Northwest has a beard is, "Well, it protects our faces during our daily tree-hugging rituals."
Looks like we missed one another by less than a day in Anacortes (pronounced 'Anna Cortes' by Waze ) but we certainly shared the gorgeous weather! What a lovely town and equally lovely place to take a meandering ferry ride to Victoria, BC. Perhaps I passed by some of your family while I was there as most every man I say was wearing a beard. Well, at any rate, now we know where you get those great beard genes!
