Reading your posts. It's always great when s beard surpasses expectations.
Your beard is filling out very well and the connectors are coming on strongly too.
As for shaping... this us your choice. I originally grew my beard out but over the past year, I have gone for the current look - with a pointed beard. Mind you this look requires regular maintenance... do bear this in mind.
It seems that you are enjoying the journey- well done and keep it going

Your beard looks great already and will only look cooler with more length. If you decide you want to go long, don't trim the sides now. You may regret it later after another few months, gravity will work its wonders and pull the sides down more.

Hair that doesn't seem important on the sides will become important once the beard lengthens. I am sadly lacking on the sides possibly due to one single aborted bout of surface trimming.Of course if you decide not to go for a yeard trim away to your hearts content. A few on here enjoy changing their beard/moustache and if you have a shortish beard it's easy to do so every couple of months.
If going long with the beard I would also refrain from trimming the moustache if possible. Everything that is said about the moustache sorting itself out after a few months is true.
