Most sites and instructions recommend trying not to futz with the cheekline too much; that letting the natural growth occur would be best. I, for one, have noticed a sparce outcropping of hairs creeping up my cheek in a way that makes the beard funky. I looked all over, and there are little to no tips on carving one's cheekline. Who here does this, and how do they manage not to mess it up?

If you establish a line running roughly from the top of your sideburn to the corner of your mouth - not of course cutting into the connector - you should be OK. I'll do a photoshop job for you later in the day if I have the time. Keep growing. Stay bearded! wulff

No need for the embarrasment, you're free to your opinion! I choose to shave the cheeks completely because the growth is in patches, and very random ones at that. So I just keep them clean and carve a neckline, and let everything else grow.

My cheek hair is pretty weak, so there's not much going on, but the stragglers are up near my cheek bone and really don't belong so I have just shaved those off without going near the other hairs. - Scott
