Definitely ahead of the curve on growth. This is a fairly typical pattern...strong neck working its way up.
You have lots of options at this point. A chinstrap/chin curtain, goatee, possibly 'stache as well though I can't see it that well. Why not let it all grow for a few weeks and then decide what to do?

Welcome to the board! Grow out what you can. I'm sure most schools are out for the summer. Grow it all out, keep what is most dense. Who knows what you can grow, until you just do it! You may have a fairly good beard on your face desperately wanting to show itself! You may have a full beard and not be aware of it. Let your beard have its way with your face! Good luck and keep in touch!

my 'stache doesnt come in too thick yet, theres alot of light hair, and some dark, but not enough to not trashy |
