Actually, you do not have to wait to show that beautiful smile with your new beard... a smile like that spreads out the stache considerably and if you don't believe me, go to the mirror, put on that same big smile and see if your front look is a little different from the last straight on shot you took. If it is, post a side by side picture... if it isn't, forget that I mentioned it.
I can imagine that the beard you have so far has improved your confidence and maturity levels already... just imagine the additional boost you will get when you have your fullbeard completed with darker sides. At that point, you may be convincing all your male friends to get bearded. How do the females take to your beardedness?

Soon I think the cheeks will be as good as the rest, and you will have the chance to really go after the full beard. Not that I would worry about it much, considering how good the Van Dyke looks on you!

Over the years he's sported solo stache's, goatees, stubble beards, and last I saw he has a nice thick full beard. Don't give up on the cheeks just yet, and personally I don't think it looks so bad to have some thin cheek areas when the goatee and sideburns are so strong. But if it doesn't meet your expectations now, just know that in a few more years you may find that you can grow any style you like with relative ease. Keep it going, sir.
