Wow....I have been away for awhile, and look what happens. I could not let this go without comment. I whole heatedly agree with "LE" on the
masculinity of the beard. That being said, I know that there are bearded men who are gay, who are very effeminate. Just as there are men in the Military who
shave every day, and are some of the most masculine you will meet. This all goes to show the level of emasculating men, that our country has gone to. Not
unlike the Romans in their quest for eternal youth. We have been programed by our media to believe that men should be "clean" shaved, to get the
girls, look more professional and be successful. We are to be more gentle, easy going and passive.
When you see a beard on a man, you "know" that it is a man you are looking at, and never consider your observance to be of a woman or a boy. That
a man has a choice, as to whether he grows a beard or not, is not a question, just as he could choose to grow his hair long. That he looks more masculine with
a beard is no question either. The real hard thing to swallow is that we have men here in this forum, who see no connection between a beard and masculinity.
