if i m right i guess u just trim around with it and then remove it and trim down what you have left to your desired length. It just creates the hair perimeter im guessing..

no what i men is you have to cut around it....there is no way to trim the hair down in the center of the goatee with it in place right?

That is correct as there's no way to trim within the perimeter.

I'm amazed at how much wider it seems to have pushed out your mustache and connectors, Jeff. I can see what you're saying about how our eyes play
tricks on us when it comes to trimming out a goatee. Would that imply that if you wished to wear a narrower goatee, the goateesaver would also lead you to trim
down the mustache in respect to your nose (i.e. - closer to a pencil mustache)? Or is there a different adjustment to control the length of the mustache &
neckline?

Day 10 update: last night I did another trim at #3 so the new hairs are starting to blend in though upon closer inspection it still has some ways to go to
catch up with the rest. What can I say, my hairs do take its time but as eventually achieves its density. I still use the goateesaver template just to make
sure I don't make any accidents. Here are some new photo updates from my brand new webcam:

day 11 update, am still using the goateesaver template mainly to make the first shave around it. Once it gets thicker I will no longer need it. Expect another
photo update sometime in the next week which is when I'll officially declare that I have the perfect goatee.

I can now see very clearly why you go by Goatee King.
Obviously, if you are still using this on Day 11, you'd surely refer someone else to buy it... right? |

lol Beeswax.
Well I would certainly recommend it especially for those wanting immediate goatee results and those with tendencies to overcrop in particular. |

Day 14 update: I usually don't shave on weekends if I have no plans, so there was no day 12 nor 13. At this point, the goateesaver is still used at least
as a guide to make sure I don't accidentally shave the sides which are getting close to my #3 trim length. The gap on my vulnerable side is still
noticeable as that takes more time just to fill in.

Butt-Kicking beard as always, Goatee King Jeff. I'm glad to see it in its natural color too.

Day 15, 2 weeks since I started using the goateesaver, am still using the goateesaver for the initial shave. Will probably not need it next week once I make my
expected final trim to let the exteriors catch up.

It seems like there is actually a science to sculpting the perfect Goat-N-Stache or any beard for that matter.
Goatee King Jeff - I am curious about the timeline that you have set up. You have years 1-10. You are at year 6 which is a great accomplishment. Was the 10 year time line originally used just to encourage yourself to avoid shaving it off or were there additional ideas behind it? Happy "Bearding"

I'm sure there's others beyond 10 years as I would like to go for 15 years or more so it can at least span over the time I reach 50 years of age at
least. With the goateesaver, it's now getting to the point where I just use it for the first few shaving strokes. I will probably sooner no longer really
need it, but I'm sensitive to any mistakes that may stick out.

I bought a GoateeSaver in September and reviewed it here on the board:
http://jefffsbeardboard.yuku.com/topic/5002 It's a great product. I'll post a picture of the goatee in a few days. I've had the goatee since September, so that says a lot about how good this product really is. I've never maintained any facial hair look as long as I've maintained the goatee with the GoateeSaver. I shave with the device every day, and then when the goatee gets too long, I trim it down to a number 2 with my beard trimmer.

I just ordered one to have on hand for some future time when I feel like going down to a circle beard for a change. It looks like it'll last forever, so
even if I never use it I'll have it for when my son starts in on his whiskers.
Jeff, great reporting on your experience. Jim, thank you. If it's good enough for you guys, it's good enough for me. Look forward to seeing this contraption when it arrives. I was surprised they didn't offer some sort of case as an option. Did it come with anything to keep it in when not in use? |

It's now been about a week since I last felt I needed to use the goateesaver as it usually take me 2-3 weeks for the hairs to fill in. It is definitely
recommendable, my thumbs up.
