Ol Grizz wrote:You put me into a deep depression for a few days with your April Fools joke. I have a picture of your court suit picture next to George V in my "Beards/mustaches I would like to have" Word document. I thought ïf Triibeard can't stick it out, how could I even hope to? Glad to see the beard and mustache in one piece and they look beautiful as usual.

But I'll keep working on it.As it grows out the remnants of trimming the sideburn areas can be controlled with a little unscented hairspray, Consort brand. Or even--and I used and still use white hairpins from Sally's Beauty Supply. Also when gathering the ponytail--don't use regular rubber bands as they can pull and break hairs. There are some clear bands especially designed for hair and they are not expensive and work very well--jojoba oil will dissolve them, but since they're cheap it's not been an issue for me. Both products are available at Walmart--the bands are in the ladies' hair care area with the combs, bands, etc.

I've never used plain rubber bands exactly for the reasons you mentioned. I'll look for those clear bands the next time I'm at the store. I'm secretly wondering what my office mates would think if I showed up with beads, leather, and feathers laced into my beard. Lady Triibeard would probably have me committed.
Or you can use Got2B Hair spray - the stuff in the yellow can. That works well. I don't use rubber bands either. I braid it, tuck it, stuff it, pin it, spray it. I just may look for those rubber bands as well and give them a try. One thing you have to be careful of when you spray the sides ... is spray in your eyes . Sometimes I have to make sure that the nozzle is clear or it sprays in differing directions.
Fun to see you do it and then post a picture. It does take a bit of practice, but you can do it!
