mikeCaprice wrote: Yeah, you say that now, but just wait. Angry clean shaven mobs with battery powered shavers cornering men (and some women with hormone problems) in dark alleys. Beard burnings. People hung by their moustaches. Its inevitable. I read it in a fortune cookie. |

margus - why do you even bother posting comments on the beard board? I thought the beardboard was supposed to be a website for beard enthusiasts, a place where us beard growers support each other. You dont seem to like beards yourself - you certainly arent encouraging anyone to grow one |

I had a patient of mine tear into my goatee for about 5 minutes. She stated it was too big and bushy, and that it looked like a bird's nest. I have a
stacheless goatee. To the ignorant (like this woman) she only thinks men have beards, are clean shaven, or have a goat/stach combo. It made me want to keep
it even more after she said this. She stated all this in front of our office, with about 3-4 people listening. Some people just have no respect.

This is very true though. As a kid I never considered a beard as something I would have, until I had facial hair and didn't want to chop it off. Popular
Media is horrible about beards in general. They are ignored, looked down upon, and frowned upon as something unruly, indicative of a dangerous and wild nature.
Having a clean shaven face is something that is favored.
I blame Gillette. What would razor companies do if people had beards!?

I didn't look at the article from a comedic standpoint, but I suppose they could have been poking fun.
