Hello fellow beardsmen. Although I love my beard balm I have always like the idea of making my own beard product. I think beard wax is a little beyond my capabilities at the moment, so I tried my hand at beard oil, as I was using Jojoba-oil anyway. After speaking to my barber and a friend of mine who works in dermatology, I started experimenting with small mixes. With batch no. 12 I think I have figured out a mixture that works well for me and I thought I would share it with you guys. The whole process is great fun and I decided to take a few pictures with it and turn this into a little silly picture guide.
Step 1.

What we need.
-Jojoba oil (ca. 50%): The great universal beard care product
-Some kind of heavy oil, Olive or Coconut (smell) or Argan or anything thick (ca 20%): Will add some hold to the beard
-Some kind of nut oil, e.g. walnut (ca 20%): Rich in Vitamin E, about the same consistency as Jojoba
-Some kind of carrier oil for the fragrances (any type that is ok for the skin, easy to google) (ca. 10%) : Will bind the fragrance and make the scent smooth
-fragrance: Make sure to check it´s ok for the skin
-Mixer bottle: I use a food safe plastic squeeze bottle
-optional: soap dispenser
Step 2.

First the light oils (Jojoba and the carrier oil)
Step 3.

Then the heavy oils, makes stirring easier
Step 4.

Stir a couple of times while filling up the bottle, chopsticks are clean, dust free and disposable.
Step 5.

There we go 500ml of beard oil.
Step 6.

That´s why I use the squeeze bottle, fill beard oil into soap dispenser.
Step 7.

Add fragrance and stir properly. Use a lot less than you think you should. I started with ten drops on 300 ml.
If you experiment with a fragrance, don´t put all the oil from the squeeze bottle into the dispenser at once,
try the scent on a few milliliters first.
Step 8.

Wohoo, beard oil! we are nearly done, but something is missing!
Step 9.

A cool logo! Now it´s bathroom presentable next to the moustache wax tins and boar bristle brushes.
Notes:
-I have coarse and curly beard hair and like my beard oil on the heavy side, if you have soft hair or don´t want it to feel "greasy", try less heavy oil and more nut oil.
-Be really careful with the fragrance, things that smell great on their own might smell horrible combined (think bacon and cinnamon), also if it´s in your beard you will smell it all day.
-Cover your floor!
That´s all from me so far, have fun with your own concoctions. Any comments and/or suggestions, please let me know.
