Thanks all!
ShortyDH: I still do since there are still hairs which are not adult. On my chin they are really strong but if you look at the area below the sideburns you see that these hairs are lighter and not as dark as on my chin. DrWh033: I used nothing except minox 5%. I started in September 2006. After one month I noticed that more and more peach fuzz is growing. Mid of December my sideburns got very dark, before the experiment I was not able to grow them at all... (Unfortunately my sideburn hairs are still not as thick as I want them to be.) At the end of January the hair was filling in more and more (I was able to grow a decent beard (except for the cheeks)) but then I had to stop my regimen. I experienced some sort of sickness and thought I should stop the application at least for a few month. In retrospect I think that I overdosed the application in Dec/Jan (3 to 4 times a day). Today I do not feel sick anymore, I'm applying minox at most 2 times a day and sometimes not at all. I was 22 when I started. Picture taken in Nov 2006: http://i27.tinypic.com/op43ee.jpg Picture taken in Dec: http://i32.tinypic.com/10xbvk3.jpg Picture taken in Feb 2007: http://i31.tinypic.com/w2gm0k.jpg Picture taken in April 2008: http://i27.tinypic.com/2w3p8au.jpg abob11: First hairs became thick after 3 month. All I can say is that you have to be very patient. If you are not experiencing any results after 6 months I would stop the regimen and try some other drug. Regarding the hair on my cheeks I plan to use some other preparation. Perhaps Xandrox? I don't know. I'm waiting for some suggestions of the users at this board. |

Since you were only 22 when you started the treatment, Dark Blue, I am not convinced that the undoubted improvement in your beard was entirely due to Minox. At
that age and in the pre-Minox era my beard was far from fully developed, although I probably had a bit more than you had, and it wasn't until my mid 20s
that I was able to grow a proper beard, and my beard continued to develop into my 30s.
It is, I believe, a misconception to think that if you do not have a thick full beard by the time you are 20 or so, there is something wrong with you and you need to stimulate the growth. It's surprising what nature will do when left to its own devices. I would say that apart from the cheeks you now have a very good beard which I hope you will allow to grow out. The fact that the cheeks do not at the moment measure up to your ideal may simply be due to your natural growth pattern, and seeing you are, what? 24 now, there is every possibility that they will fill in naturally over the coming years and may very well not respond to treatment just at present. Meanwhile, I reckon you could grow a very nice carved-out style if you wanted to. wulff |

OMG
thats truly f*** amazing results! it kills me in almost one year of 5% i didn't get all this hairs you always use the 5% twice a day minimum ? what brand and form of the product did you use ? (typical solution or foam) (kirkland ? rogaine ?) you can already enjoy this new beard it would be more impressive if you had started at 30 years old i think you just early pushed out your natural potentiel to grow your beard, you will probably maybe get this results at your 30 years old naturally maybe not anyways congrats |

you always use the 5% twice a day minimum ?At the beginning, yes. At the moment it is not always possible because the skin dries up and this would look very strange, even if I use lotions... So I use it several hours before going to bed and in the morning I am applying some lotion... i think you just early pushed out your natural potentiel to grow your beard, you will probably maybe get this results at your 30 years old naturallyYes, that's possible. Who knows... But this experiment has led to a nice side effect: I sometimes had many pimples, but now it seems the alcohol has some cleaning effect and does not allow pimples to pop out.

blue your improvement is really amazing, congrats
i also think your young age had also something to do with the results, but thats not important for you. your beard looks really nice on the pics ans thats all that matters. i also paused the experiment for 2 months after 3 months of use (and good results) and almost all the hairs fell off because they didnt get dark, now im almost at the same stage (3 months usage again) and i wanted to ask you, did any hairs fell off in the time you didnt use minox? the problem is, even if you look every day u dont notice it because they dont fell off all at one time.. so i was so much surprised as i saw my old fotos and was wondering why i didnt had all those hairs on the cheeks... maybe u got pics of the last days before u stopped and some as u started again.. im just wondering if i am the only one who lost so much hairs after i paused, evethough i didnt use it long enough to get the hairs get darker.. anyways keep growing |

Dark Blue welcome to the BB. You are truely a success story and inspiration to the guys just starting their experiment.

its natural for progress to fluctuate, but if you persist you will always be making advances.
blue, i advise emu oil, this will enable you to be rid of skin side effects while using maximum dosages. xandrox may be a good move 4 u now |

Dark blue your progress photos are showing the perfect evaluation length stubble, i think this is a good length to keep for this experiment.

Recently I have gotten back some of the beard growth I had before I quit minox.
It seems like quitting minox reverted the growthstadium for my beard back quite a bit, although it still pushed it forward. I got way more beard now than when I started the experiment. I think 2½ month was too short a time to try minox, since much of the vellus hairs reverted back to even smaller vellus hairs. Maybe about 4+ months would have made it possible for the new hair growth to establish itself before quitting the minox.
Take my hand and we will take
the last step towards damnation.

StyloAbi wrote: Hi StyloAbi.... look into my post on page 309. I too encountered the same situation when i discontinued the minox in between..But probably the the hair
might not have reached its black and terminal status and would have fallen off due to lack of blood supply to them made by minox in those initial 3
months.....but now i hv again started it with emu oil as addition and will do for at least 6 months to get an good overview.

Hi.
and i wanted to ask you, did any hairs fell off in the time you didnt use minox?Yes, a lot of hairs fell of because they were no terminal hairs. Look at the pic taken in Feb 2007, most of the lighter hair was gone and even my sideburn hairs began to get thinner. Do not stop after three months unless your are sure it's terminal hair. |

@an1234
@dark_blue Yea that and the post of keeper should be enough to say that we should give minox the chance to develop the thin hairs into darker terminal hairs. this time ill give it a chance for at least six months, i think even more because my goal is to get a full beard what ever it takes ^^ if it works and all the vellous hairs i got turn into terminal hairs, it would be really great and i am looking for it. i think this month im also going to buy some emu oil.. is it right that zinc and other vitamins also benefit the growth? what about tribulus terrestris raising the testosterone levels? a guy in another board with pretty good knwoledge about that said that only the vitamins (zinc etc.) and tribulus boosted his growth alot in a natural way (and he was pretty old, 30+), could it be a good support for minox? i recently buyed tribulus but then quit after few days and gave it to my brother (he has absolutely no beard) and he said he noticed some changes since he used tribulus... this tribulus and testosterone stuff is confusing me :S gl to all |

Sorry, thought I did. At the beginning I was using Regaine, now I am using Kirkland (both solutions). |

you use xandrox as wel how do you apply it with the sprayer or not? and how much do you need to spray to get 1 ml of xandrox? |

i find the dropper is better. the spray goes too diffused.

StyloAbi wrote: Which is that forum?... I personally don't like to mess with testosterone products or the like ones.....may hv long term health hazards....the minox
experiment can be quit and one can get back to earlier stage ( as some on the BB hv done when they experienced side effects). also a routine of yoga and deep
breathing exercises can also help.

i did not mean any synthetic (illegal in some countries) steroids to boost the testosterone up, i wrote about tribulus terrestris, which is completely natural
and also has no "side effects".. it also does not raise testosterone too much, many people use it since years ...
the board is german and i can give u a link if u speak german. but its not about the board, u can just google and u will see that tribulus is not bad at all... its just the question if it benefits beard growth with minox and other vitamins (zinc etc) |
