It was growing far too wide for my liking and I was very tempted to just shave it all off. Ended up grabbing some scissors instead. Trimmed the sides and neck but left the chin alone. Glad you decided to edge the cheeks, trim up the neck, and shape the beard instead of shaving off one of the finest beards on the beard board. And at least you tried the natural look while growing out but it didn't suit you. You sure saw what you had to work with. ah, just re read your post. you trimmed your own beard with scissors like that? you should become a master barber in charge of beard trims! I like how heavy your sideburns are and they provide a perfect connection to your hair. You did a great job on trimming it. Certainly above average... I'm 21 and don't have that kind of coverage. I personally keep a trimmer with a guard handy and trim WITH the grain of my beard regularly. It helps keep things tidy, which makes the beard look better defined and stronger. There's no risk of over-trimming, because of the guard, so you can use it (or not use it) as oftenas you want.
