It has done wonderful things to me (and I've lost almost 40 pounds doing that). I also like listening to music. I always carry my Ipod anywhere. I also bought a 1 Gig memory card for my cellphone and placed about 150 songs in there just incase my Ipod battery runs out when I'm on travel.

Reading (mostly non-fiction) Cooking (mostly Mexican cuisine - the world's most exciting) Brewing my own beer. Hiking and backpacking. Cycling. Occasional (more and moreso) guitar playing. Music in general - jazz, alt-country, classical, blues. Being an (online) news junkie. Recently, learning about finance and investments. Anything to keep my wit fairly sharp, and avoid being enslaved by the television/ennui. That would be the end of me.

I'm also reading a lot (currently Solzhenitsyn's "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich), and have just started writing again for a return to stand-up comedy that will take place in October. In addition to all that, I'm slowly learning more about wine, and playing the guitar again after several months of not picking it up. Running has had to take a back seat - I was going to enter a ten-miler on Sept 2nd, but I had been overdoing it and had to rest for a few days because I felt exhausted! Still doing a lot of it, though - six miles every other day (apart from the past few days). It's my stress-relieving hobby, I think. Cheers, Stew "There is more music in jazz. Been playing lead on guitar for about four years. I'm into a bunch of different computer and platform games and above all I'm a nerd with a passion. Hopefully I'll find something as a career that channels my interest for games. Photography is also something I do now and then if I'm inspired. I shoot video and backdrop recordings as voice-overs from movies and animations. Webdesign is something I'd like to get into more. I'm currently a student of 5 languages (2 of which I speak, read and write with native and near native competence [English and Japanese], 1 of which I can muddle through with [Mandarin Chinese], 1 of which is poor but that I would like to improve in the future [Spanish], and 1 of which I am still very novice in and that I'm still ambivalent about [German]). Additionally, I study human social interaction; I do conversation and discourse analysis. I'm especially interested in examining interactions between first and second language speakers, and in the future I would like to turn my sights to interactions between second language speakers using their L2 as a lingua franca. Other than that, I like drawing and (oil) painting (I was an art student and a graphic designer in another life), viewing well-done artwork, karaoke, cooking and eating, listening to and playing the 'sanshin' (an Okinawan 3-stringed instrument) and shamisen (the mainland Japanese version), Japanese calligraphy and walking. I also have some band projects going on frome time to time. My other interests are cycling and photography. Currently I want to learn to play another instrument, but I don't know what I should choose. I don't think it will be that difficult now that I know a lot of music theory.

I have a dodge pickup that I love and work on alot but I want to sell it and buy a diesel version (hence the username) hopefully in the coming spring/summer and build it up. I also like fishing, shooting pool, and am going to pick up hunting hopefully in the coming year. I like country music and am currently a business major at Indiana University. I guess I could also say that I've started to get pretty big into politics and am actively following the '08 election process. Kind of a weird mix of stuff but I enjoy it!
