Thanks guys. See, my beard is naturally forked, and I have grown out my neckline before, but it was a little uncomfortable. It also made my beard even more
forked. Grant it this was when my beard was wider and longer...Nevertheless, I don't think I desire it now. Plus, I like the narrow look that a carved
neckline gives on a lengthy beard. I used to be really into natural necklines and didn't think necklines were worth carving, but then after hearing people
say how much they enjoyed...

Actually, when I grew out a beard for the winter, I carved the neckline with my beard trimmer's shortest setting. It kept my neck from being completely
naked against the cold.

I looked over your profile and it sounds like facial hair is the norm where you live. I think some neck stubble would be cool especially since you have a
longer beard. Plus it makes things a lot easier and in my book that is always good.

Danko,

If you're already at 3 1/2 inches, I think you could probably get away with letting some of the stubble grow out, unless you're worried about to much
density. I usually maintain a neckline for the first two months or so, then once I get some length the stubble begins to disappear into my beard, so I have to
shave it less and less to keep things tidy. My neck stubble thins out above my adam's apple so maybe it's not as much of an issue for me.

Thanks for your opinions guys. I'm still thinking about it. I have a week off from work coming up. I may let it go then. I keep my beard at 3.5 inches now.
I have gone back and forth between different beard sizes, but finally after 3 years, have found a comfortable length.

I don't think that neck stubble is a problem in association with long beards which hide most of the neck anyway. However, my personal opinion is that when
the beard is short, or short enough to leave most of the neck exposed, then neck stubble just looks unkempt and untidy and detracts from the definition of the
beard. Of course this can depend on how far down the neck the stubble extends. Those whose growth finishes above the adam's apple can often get away with
neck stubble and a...

I've never carved a neckline, mine has just been left to it's own devices. I personally don't think it looks bad but I agree that carved neckline
can look neater, I'd say if you need to look 'presentable' for work etc then keeping a neckline is probably your best option.

Hey Danko, I don't know what your current style/length is. You've had some pretty long beards that neck stubble would probably go good with. I'd
say neck stubble probably wouldn't look as good as a carved neckline....atleast for short beards.

Well Danko, here is what I do. I keep a carved neckline and after trimming along the edge, I use the trimmer on my neck to shave it. I use the trimmer on the
neck every few days. If I want to be more formal for a special occasion or what have you, I have an electric razor that can tidy the neck up more. However, I
have found that in the presence of a full beard, neck stubble is barely visible. Besides that, I have sensitive skin and don't like to use a razor any more
than I have to.

When it comea to neck stubble, I think it all depends what type of beard you wanna grow.

If you're going for a big ol' beard, allowing the neck hair to grow really adds to the fullness at the bottom of the beard after a few months of
letting it grow.

If you're just maintaining a smaller, trimmed beard, the neck stubble may defeat the purpose of the trimmed beard.
