I dunno where to ask this, but I guess the beard board is a good place, even though its not about beards...well sorta.

Anyways, I got my last haircut a while ago and I think I will grow it out longer. How long i'm not sure. its about 3 inches right now...which seems like nothing I know, but my hair is EXTREMELY thick and wavy, and it looks like alot.

I was wondering if there is somewhat of a "procedure" or whatever when growing one's hair out. What I mean is should it be trimmed...

no pony tail for me, and i don't know if it'll be that long even.

I might go get a haircut tomorow before i got to a wedding, if i have time.

And about going bald naturally...i doubt i will, because i heard to find out you look at your mom's dad, and my grandpa has huge hair, its exactly like mine...extremely thick and wavy.

Hi Vlad,
A good barber should be able to trim it for you so as to reduce the bulk but not the length and to encourage it to grow into the longer style you want.
I'm against shaved heads for young guys. Plent of time to go bald naturally. When you think of all the guys desperate for more head hair slapping on the minoxidil it seems a bit weird to want to go bald.
All the best
