I recently noticed there were some posts made here, and so I am fixing it now so nobody can post here.

The original purpose of this section was to maintain certain topics that would have otherwise been automatically deleted back when we were on the ezboard network, and for certain poll topics that no longer worked once we had migrated to yuku over a year ago. Now that we're on yuku, we don't have that concern about topics getting pruned once they reached a certain page...

Here are the most recent pictures I've taken for my "baddest beard" competition. Today marks 6 months of growth (not exactly, but close enough) and it seems to be at the point where even another full month of growth is barely noticeable. I think I'm holding my own against my remaining two rivals, but both of their beards are red . . . and few things are as badass as a big red beard. I believe I've got them beat in sheer mass, but since the front of my beard grows so...

Who Or What Inspired You?

Inspiration for growing a beard can come from just one, or many, many different places and all kinds of different reasons. Mine came from a few different places.

1. My uncle. His goatee just makes him even cooler than he already is, and he's pretty cool already.
2. The alternative first impression recieved from others, concerning bearded men. Personally, I love the intimidation factor, and the alpha-male aura it gives.
3. Actors in films, and characters from books. All...

When you were 18, how often did you need to shave?

Correlation between Chest and Beard growth

This is a poll based on your observations, not on yourself. Please consider only guys that have reached full maturity.

For example, if you think it is more likely that a guy with thick chest hair can grow a thick beard than the other way around (i.e. lots of bare chested guys can also grow thick beards), then select option 1. But if you think that option 1 and option 2 are equally likely, then select option 5.

Here's a photo from a wedding I attended yesterday and one in the backyard. The lad in the photo is the groom. He's a good friend of the family.
The update comes a bit earlier than one week after my last post... I've got a busy week ahead, too busy to post photos and wanted to keep my brothers posted on my progress. I am happy to report that there has been no tinkering and there has been no inclination whatsoever to cave.

Before I disappeared forever, I wanted to come back and thank you for your support during those difficult months when I was growing my first beard. My beard has turned into a goatee for the summer, but I love it. So thanks - especially Wullfpaul and Bearded Masseur. I've been trying to log on, but my thread was gone and then it wouldn't recognize my login name... I kept trying and... the rest is history.

Not much change from week 5, I did a trim to even it up and shaped the cheekline a little. I'm liking the feeling of this so far and don't know how long I'm going to let this grow just yet. Oh, I got my hair cut to a 1 1/2 blade setting again, still am not ready for the head shave, but maybe that will come later. Thanks to everyone for their advice and encouragement, I don't know that I would have made it this far without it!

I've made it to five weeks now and it's starting to fill in and soften up some now, and I'm getting used to seeing myself in the mirror with these whiskers. I don't think I have ever let it grow out longer than five weeks in the previous attempts I've made, so this will be interesting. My eye is slowly improving from surgery too.
