I've been hovering around this forum for a couple of weeks now and I've enjoyed reading all the advice and support everyone gives here. Several weeks ago I bought a beard trimmer to keep my sideburns in check and decided to grow a beard - or at least attempt to. I'm a bit down. I have been growing out my beard for 2.5 weeks and it looks horrible. I think I have been very delusional with myself in thinking I can grow a beard. This makes me very sad as I always thought to myself "yeah my beards not that bad"...but it is.

I am 27 years old, and I do sometimes have days when I think that my beard looks pretty good. But then I think "at 27 my beard should be much better..."

on time with week 6 (got my camera back). and, this time i took photos outside. i took several, from a couple of different lighting options.. i chose the best below.

you can see that outdoors and in brighter light, you can really see the individual hairs, and overall, the beard appears less dense. but, i think you also get a better view of all the different colors involved.
